Oliver talks all the time.  He is constantly making all sorts of noises and now he started talking to his books, toys, to us and out the window.  I am always wondering what he is trying to say and what his little mind is thinking. David said today that when he talks to him he feels like he's talking to the minions on despicable me... I think he's right, ha!

I want to remember some of ollies first words....

ba = ball, ba ba = baseball/basketball

mommy = more

dada

buh = book
ree = read

peeee uuuuu = when i change him or sniff his feet

puppy

whee = for anything fun

pidy = pretty (tree & lights)

boom = when he falls or knocks things over

christmas comes early

My amazing husband gave me my christmas gift a little early this year.  He wanted to make sure I could use my new camera when we were home with our families and on Christmas morning!! 

I am so excited! I had butterflies in my belly when I opened it! 

I have waited a long time for this and can't wait to start taking more pictures!!

Yesterday Jonathan and Emma came over for a Christmas visit.  We missed Aiden and Daisy because Aiden has strep :(.  Emma and Oliver still had fun though.  They played with all of the toys in Oliver's room and made quite the mess.  Then they shared Christmas presents.

 

 I am so thankful for Jonathan and the friendship and he and David have.  They are truly two of kind stats guys that can't talk enough about running.

We went over to the Parrott's for lunch and to take Anderson his Christmas present.  As I new it would be, the tissue paper was by far the best part of the gift :)

While Anderson was opening his present, Oliver was loving on Nala...

and Nala is so patient with my wild boy.

After much playing and chasing with Richard, Oliver got a present too!  Anderson gave Oliver a gift card to build-a-bear.  I can't wait to take him in to make his own stuffed friend.

These two boys are already so funny together.  They are always watching what the other is doing and when Oliver slows down enough they have these special moments of holding hands and looking at each other.  It is going to be so fun to watch them grow!

christmas break

Right now I can't think of anything more wonderful than waking up on Christmas break and staying in our Christmas PJ's all morning long!  We love to snuggle up in our blankets and watch movies, giggle, talk and read books.  What a blessing this time is.

On tuesday, David had to sell tickets for his high school's basketball game.  It was all three teams which made for a long day after teaching all day.  Oliver and I missed him so we drove up and took David and few others dinner.  Oliver was beyond excited about the "ba ba" (basketball) and the basketball game.  It was quite a challenge keeping him off of the court!!

Eventually, David got him his very own ball to throw and chase. He had so much fun with all of the open space and I am proud to say that neither Oliver or the  ball interrupted the game :)

snuggle time

Most of the time Ollie is my crazy boy, running and talking nonstop (which I wouldn't have any other way!).    But he always slows down for a bit to snuggle and I just eat it up!

The view outside our apartment is so peaceful.  Every morning we open the curtains to a beautiful lake.  Of course that also means we see quite a few geese and ducks.  Oliver loves to yell at the birds so today David took him outside to play and they were checking out the geese up close!

the other day I was doing some housework when I realized Oliver had disappeared.  I went on the search and found him here....

decorating the tree

Tonight we decorated our little tree.  

At first Oliver was very interested in the bubble wrap and newspaper....

 then the shiny and sparkly ornaments....

 he even checked out a santa clause....

 but then all of this seemed way better....

 or even better, his own little nativity!

 Eventually he came back to check out the tree but surprisingly didn't pull any ornaments off!

 Finally, David put the star on top.

 It's a very cozy and beautiful Christmas in our house!

St. Nicholas Day

All growing up we put our shoes out on December 5th for St. Nicholas to bring special treats.  I loved this tradition and wanted to carry it on with my kids so last night we had Oliver put his little shoes out....

 He is one sleepy boy.

 and St. Nicholas brought some awesome goodies!

 Oliver wasn't sure what to think when he woke up.  

He just wanted to eat the snacks, which is the norm around here :)

 Later on today he was all smiles in his new reindeer outfit!
