4th of july

We spent the 4th of July with Tim and Pam in Owensboro. It was nice to finally see where they live and check out Tim's new store.

We had a small water balloon fight. It felt so good on those HOT days!

Tim got a Michigan helmet. Everyone tried it out... except me and Ollie :)

One the actual 4th of July me, David and Oliver went to run a 5K. My first in a really long time and it felt pretty good to finish it without any walking!

Then we went down to the river for fireworks. Equipped with cold drink and snacks we set up camp.

The kids had some snuggle time while they watched a movie.

And little miss Lilli was always on the go!

We had such a fun time and are so thankful that we have family living closer to us!!

Uncle D's Softball Game

On our last day together we went to watch Doug play softball.

The kids all made signs. Josh's says "get a hit Uncle D" and has all of those bases he needs to run around :)

Oliver was very impressed by the baseball field!

S'mores

We had to have one of my favorite nights... s'mores night!

It was a perfect time for a small fire and lots of sugary goodness.

What a perfect summer night.

Towards the end of our trip we went to the cemetery to see Gramps and Grandma's plots. After that we went to Rudy's for breakfast, the Retro Candy Store, and finally the Toledo Firefighters Museum. It was a special day to remember Grandma and Gramps so close their wedding anniversary.

Josh loved every second of the fire museum!!

They rang the fire bell for us.

When we got to the archives room we discovered that our tour guide new Gramps when they were young. They went to elementary school together! We were able to find some of the old books from when he worked. It was so cool to see his signature and some of the runs they went on.
