oh wow

Everyday I am amazed at how much Oliver is growing.  It is unreal how many new things he is doing and saying.  It's been awhile since I've posted about the words he is saying now so I thought I'd make a list of some newer ones for memories sake....

I got it

He can say some body parts... eye, ear, nose, mouth, teeth, head hair, belly, and toes.

All sorts of animal noises... neigh, moo, baa, quack, meow, ca coo (cockadoodledoo), hiss, aaahhh (while banging on his chest for gorilla), brrrr (while throwing his arm in the air for elephant).  He can also say some animals... puPPY, bir = bird, and pig.

He also likes to count... bor = 4, bI = 5, and ick = 6. 

For some time now he's been calling both me and David, mama, but just yesterday he finally said "Daddy"!  It was a pretty big triumph in our house.

He also loves to sing, especially Pider = Itsy Bitsy Spider.  He can't sing the words but he loves doing the motions.  He likes to try and do them for Head, Shoulders, Knees, & Toes too.

Everyone says it is so amazing watching your child grow and learn but I never thought it would be this much fun.  Every time he says a knew word or does something for the first time I get so excited!!

lunch with daddy

Yesterday I had off for the Oaks but sadly David still had to work.  So Oliver and I packed up our lunch and went for an adventure to David's school.  When we were walking into the school a bus pulled into the parking lot.  Oliver could hardly contain his excitement!  He kept yelling "CHOO-CHOO" and "OH WOW!!"  Then there were the long hall ways.  He was off as soon as he could get away.  Eventually we made it to David's room were Oliver got to meet a couple of his students before they left for lunch. 

He thought he was pretty cool sitting in that big desk.  

And maybe the best part of my lunch... Oliver ate a TON of my salad! He was loving the lettuce and tomatoes!  We'll see if we can make that happen again :)  I keep hoping that my baby will LOVE veggies... fingers crossed!

And probably Oliver's best part of our adventure was coloring on the smart board... are you impressed by the awesome math problem he's solving??

Then David made it so oliver could make STARS!! That has been his favorite word lately.  Any time he sees a star he yells "DAR!!"  Teachers lunches are always short so after our quick visit we had to leave so David could get back to work.  It sure was fun to seem him in the middle of our day.

St. Louis' move to KY

Tim and Pam moved to Kentucky! We are so excited to have family closer to us.  They live in Owensboro so it's a bit of a drive but it's a whole lot closer than it used to be!  Last Sunday they came for an impromptu visit.  It was so good to see their kiddos.  We hadn't seen them since Christmas and it is always amazing how fast they grow!  

Miss Lilli with her long arms and legs was full of smiles.  She spent most of her time wiggling on the floor and watching the bigger kids.

David is so tall and it is fun to watch him and Oliver play together. 

And Bella... can she really be finishing her 1st grade year?! It seems like yesterday David and I were driving up to Michigan to see her for the first time!

We spent some time playing at the park which the kids loved of course.  Oliver sure loved having people to chase around and play with!

These next few pictures make me smile so much! Pam and I attempted to get a picture of these 3 before we left the park....

It started out OK... David just wasn't sure the he wanted to sit on the bench...

then he realized Oliver had a ball....

Some how, miraculously, I was able to get a picture with all three looking at me!! They may not look happy... but they are looking! whew.

There are two things that Oliver and I totally agree about.  Popcorn is the best snack and being outside is always better than being in.  We often spend our evenings out on the porch watching the birds, blowing bubbles or eating a snack.  This night was perfect outside, we turned on our patio lights and made a big bowl of popcorn to share.  It's perfect evenings like this that make all of it worthwhile.  No matter what our day was like being together to play, laugh and talk makes my heart happy.

 

I wish I had an explanation for my husband's shirt but I don't :)

I know I posted a picture like this before but it just melts my heart and I can't help myself.  They love to just be together.  It is amazing to watch Oliver watch his Dad.  He wants to do everything that David is doing.  I love them both so very much.

GG gave Oliver this drum set before he was even born! It is full of noise makers and of course drum sticks.  In the past he has had fun playing with a few of the shakers but it wasn't until recently that he discovered he could drum! He loves banging on the drum and making all sorts of noise!
