back to the park

This morning we made a quick trip to the park and I had some fun messing with my camera.

celebrating Master David!!

Thursday David had his last Master's class at U of L.  We decided to meet him at the Mud Hens vs Bats game downtown to celebraet.  Oliver and I were there first so we got our tickets and made our way down to the field.  Oliver was talking to the Mud Hens players in the dugout :)

 

 After awhile we got some popcorn and enjoyed the game. 

David joined us as soon as his class was over.  It was a beautiful night and the Mud Hens played awesome! 

Buddy the bat came right by us!  Oliver was pretty excited he kept calling him the "bir" (bird) and clapping for him.

Congratulations David!!! I'm so proud of you!!!

track meet @ north

David's team hosted their first home meet on tuesday night.  Oliver and I went to cheer on the Mustangs.  

The guys gave Oliver a tennis ball to play with and it was the highlight of the night!

We also shared a chick-fil-a dinner with Ruthie and Anderson.

Oliver was not happy that he couldn't see Anderson from his seat so he found a new way!

Once it got close to bedtime Oliver did not want to be held anymore. After this little meltdown and the beginning of a storm, we went home for a bath and bedtime.

paPA's birthday

We also got to celebrate Tom's birthday on friday. Josh and Emma were able to come spend the weekend too!  Shannon made crispy chicken, GG made mac and cheese, and mom made mashed potatoes and peas... all of Tom's favorites. After we ate we sang Happy Birthday and Tom had some good helpers to blow out the candles.

Last weekend we went to my Mom's for a quick visit and Shannon's shower.  On friday Oliver had fun playing outside.

 

He was running around and then he would have to stop to check out his shadow.  In this picture, he is stomping on it.

Then he drove the Flinstone car.  I was amazed that he knew exactly what to do.  He just went right over to it, opened the door and got in. I can't believe how big he is!!

With a very runny nose and a tired boy it was time to go in for a nap.

We tried out the bath fizzies that Grandma brought.  They change the color of your bath water.  Oliver of course thought it was so fun! We started with red and then added some yellow.

On Easter morning the Easter Bunny had hid LOTS of eggs! It took Ollie quite awhile to figure out what he should do.  

 

At first he just wanted to hold onto the ones that he found.  He was not going to put them into the basket.

But then Grandma and Uncle D showed him the way and he got into it.

There were even some on the patio!

He found Grandma's bucket of Easter fun! With a bat and a ball, sidewalk chalk, bunny sippy cup, shovel, and bath fizzies!

 Then he found the Easter Bunny's basket! Bubbles, a pinwheel, a book, a coloring book and crayons, and snacks!

Uncle D got a little Easter surprise too!

After we settled down a bit Oliver wanted one of GG's famous frosting graham crackers.

Then mom and I enjoyed some coffee ...

 while Doug and Oliver slept...

and David and Tom watched the Tigers.
