State Champs

This year David has been the assistant coach for North Oldham's Cross Country Team.  It has been a great season and David has loved working with the guys. Last weekend was the Kentucky state meet. North was favored to win the AA title and they didn't disappoint!

While we waited for the race to start we ran into Richard, assistant girls coach for South. A lot of people would be disturbed by this photo :)

Then they had the awards ceremony. It's hard to get a good picture but there's the team accepting their 1st Place Trophy!

Oliver's 1st Birthday!

Oliver Douglas turned ONE on November 5th! 

I still can't believe that I have been a mommy for a year and I have a walking, growling, climbing, singing and dancing little boy.  We have been so blessed by our little guy and I just can't imagine life without him. He makes me smile every single day. When he growls because he's annoyed or excited, giggles at himself when he plays hide-n-seek, talks to his feet, makes mama and dada noises, and looks at me with those killer blue eyes my heart melts every time. This past year has been filled with diapers, bottles, and sleepless nights, but more importantly it has been filled with snuggles, kisses, new teeth, lots of new foods, sitting up, crawling, jumping, walking, and dancing.  Our Ollie has shown me what really matters in this world. He has changed me forever.

We decided to have a fall party for our little pumpkin.

We were so thankful for all of the family and friends that came to celebrate Oliver!

Oliver was blessed with lots of gifts from people at the party and family and friends that couldn't be here.   Thank you all so much for loving our baby and taking such good care of us!

It was also my brother Doug's birthday! It's so fun that they get to share a birthday together :) 

I asked Doug what he wanted and he said "My own bowl of Oswald Dip and my own bag of thin pretzels and chips so no one else can have any." 

Birthday wish granted! Happy 25th Doug! We love you!

Grandma and Papa gave him a wooden fire truck. He loves pushing it around and hiding things in the front and under the seat.  He hasn't quite figured out how to ride it but he keeps trying!

It all went too fast of course but we were so blessed to have so much of our family here in town and the friends that traveled to celebrate Oliver!

halloween

It was Oliver's first Halloween (the last of the first holidays!).  I love halloween so I have been so excited preparing to share this holiday with my baby!  He went to school in his little Tiger costume and shared pumpkin and ghost cookies with his teachers.  

Then we came home to a halloween surprise from Grandma and Papa!

After we enjoyed our new toys we headed over to Cheryl and George's to pass out candy to other trick-or-treaters.

Then we snuggled up to see what the other kids dressed up as.

Daddy came to meet us after practice.

One of my best friends, Amanda, came to visit on saturday.  She can't make it to Oliver's birthday party and wanted to be sure that she got to celebrate with him.  We are so thankful for you Aunt Marge! :)

Story time.

As always our visit was too short but we are so glad she came.  It's not every day you find a friend that you don't mind seeing your truest stress and messiness of life.  She helped us get things cleaned up and packed up.... nothing like making a friend work after driving 4 hours here!
