5K on the track

David helped put together a 5K for high schoolers on the track.  There aren't very many chances for distance runners to run a 5K on the track so he was really excited for this event to finally be here.  He was able to get some really good runners from all over Kentucky and even a few from out of state.  They were supposed to run on friday night under the lights but unfortunately only the girls were able to complete their race before they saw lightning.  They had to reschedule the boys for saturday morning.  While I'm sure it wasn't the same as running under the lights it was pretty cool to watch the race as the sun came up.

Oliver and I found David in the press box ready to announce the big race. 

Once the race started, we went out on the bleachers and watched from there.  Oliver was cheering for the runners and dancing to the music.

Until I met David I can definitely say I was not into watching running but he is in his element at the track and I love watching him and being a part of his passion.

Friday night we had the Art Gala at school.  David had a track meet so Oliver got to come with me.  He had a lot of fun running around the gym and climbing up and and down the bleachers!

Den & Carrie's Wedding

Den and Carrie got married!!  

I remember when they got engaged and I thought, March 2012... that day is so far away.  Then all of a sudden we were in Austin getting ready for their big day! I am so happy for them both.  The day was beautiful and we had so much fun celebrating. Here is just a glimpse at the wedding day.

Since it was a St. Patrick's day wedding Oliver dressed like a little Irish man.

Carrie, Oliver, Mom, Me and Lauren... I had so much fun spending time with these girls! I can't wait to see everyone again.

The wedding was in an old Victorian home.  It was so neat with all of the details and antique furniture.  The guys hung out in the downstairs room and kept up with March Madness basketball while they waited.

Grandma and Grandpa, Sandy and Scoot, Jim and Vikki, and Nan and Dale couldn't be there so we were able to skype them in.  They were all able to talk to Den and Carrie and little before the wedding and see the whole ceremony.  Thank goodness for technology!

After pictures they had a little mishap with the dress but luckily my mom is so talented and they were able to fix it rather quickly.

Den was so kind but Carrie made it exciting!! :) They had a fun cupcake display and they were so delicious!!

When the DJ got started he put on these colored lights.  Oliver was amazed by them! He kept reaching up and trying to catch the light and figure out where it was coming from.

Oliver was loving Reaghan.  He kept following her around to dance with him.  He got a little heart broken when she wanted to dance with other people.  It was so stinking cute!!

Carrie and I had so much fun hanging out this weekend.  Can't wait to do it again!!

CONGRATULATIONS DEN AND CARRIE!

Austin, TX

Last weekend we traveled to Austin, Texas for Den and Carrie's wedding.  Oliver had fun checking out the airplanes from the airport window.

In between all of the wedding excitement we were able to see a little bit of Austin and even spend some time with everyone.  Oliver was loving on Uncle Den!

On Sunday afternoon, Mom and Tom took us up a hill to a look-out over the river.  It was so beautiful!  You could see the Austin skyline in the distance and the beautiful river and all of the green trees.  Carrie was terrified a snack would get her but we all survived :)

After our little hike we went shopping on Congress avenue.  There are a bunch of funky little shops with all kinds of fun stuff.  The squirrel mask was one of our favorites!

We had so much fun vacationing and being a part of Den and Carrie's special day!! I can't wait to go back and see more of the city.
